Guided by research on effective teaching of children with autism, this comprehensive three-day workshop provides participants with detailed information about how to use the research-based Optimism Kit, a bilingual resource of ready-to-use materials. Beginning with a needs assessment to evaluate what the participants already know and what their needs are, the dynamic duo of American educators will provide hands-on experiences that will enhance your team’s ability to make and monitor progress with the children with autism at your center. From collaborating and planning with parents to developing individual education plans to designing effective schedules to teaching children with autism to learn and communicate, every aspect of a full day at a center will be illuminated. The workshop will include case studies and videos to stimulate instructional decision-making and effective behavior management practice.
